Alongside the newly announced Redmi Note 9 series in China the brand unveiled its first smartwatch entry, aptly named Redmi Watch. It’s a rectangular smartwatch with the usual set of fitness, heart-rate and sleep tracking paired with a super affordable price tag.
The Redmi Watch packs a 1.4-inch color display with 320 x 320-pixel resolution and 2.5D glass. You can choose between black, white and navy blue colors for the watch itself with a matching silicone watch strap which is also available in pink and green options.
There are over 120+ watch faces which you can tinker with using the Mi Fit app. You also get the standard array of sports modes to keep you active. The Redmi Watch pairs over Bluetooth 5.0 BLE and also comes with NFC. It’s waterproof at up to 50m depths and weighs just 35grams.
Battery life is rated at 7 days with normal use and 12 days with the power-saving mode turned on. It charges via a proprietary cradle and a full charge takes 2 hours.
The Redmi Watch will retail for CNY 299 ($45) though it’s offered for CNY 269 ($40) in a limited time offer. Sales in China begin on December 1. Details on international availability were not disclosed. The wearable could make its way outside of China as the Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite, a name which was spotted in an FCC listing a while back.
